Administrative Assistant
Position Description
We are seeking an Administrative Assistant for Calvary Lutheran Church to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. Duties of the Administrative Assistant include providing administrative support to the Pastor, assisting in the daily office needs and managing the church’s general administrative duties. The Administrative Assistant serves as the “first contact” to visitors, congregants and outside user groups. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills, be friendly and self-motivated and exercise confidentiality relating to church business and members and have a living faith in Jesus Christ.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Greet and assist visitors, congregants and outside agency users.

Answer phone and email contacts.

Publish and edit all church publications and correspondence.

Schedule and maintain calendars.

Update the church website with current events, newsletters and sermons.

Assist the Financial Secretary.

Order supplies for the office and worship services.

Manage church records.

Exercise confidentiality relating to church business and contacts.

Handle sensitive situations with compassion and integrity.
Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Experience with MS Suite.

Clerical or administrative experience.

Faith- must profess a personal faith in Jesus Christ.
Salary
This is a 35 hour/week (M-F) position with full benefits. The salary is commensurate with experience.
